It all started with one guitar.

As a craftsman, I was always the guy people would come to when they broke something. As a musician, I was never quite happy with the playability of most instruments in my price range. As an engineer, I wanted to know why. What is the difference between a quality instrument and one that buzzes and rattles and hurts your fingers? To answer that question I had to order some parts and experiment. Through trial and error I found that the answer is measured in 64ths of an inch. A HIGHLY addictive hobby was born, and before I knew it I had a dozen guitars and had to sell them in order to fund the next.

Begin GuitarMax.

GuitarMax was formed during the global pandemic of 2020 as a way to stay sane during the lockdown. It has since evolved from a hobby into a full out business. We have since branched out from building partscasters to doing full out refinishing, fret replacement, and full restoration of rare and vintage instruments. We are also an authorized distributer for major aftermarket brands.
